Francis – High School Senior
Our sponsored teen, Francis, is beginning his senior year at the
International Christian Academy in Malawi and is so excited. He recently wrote,
“I am expecting to sit for my final exam in 2014. I am working harder to
achieve my goals of being an electrical engineer.”
Francis lost his
parents to famine in 1996 and we began sponsoring him in 2004. God has
transformed a shy, orphaned boy into a grateful teenager, studying hard to pass
his exams for entrance into Electrical Engineering College. We hope to visit
him at his college graduation in 3 years.

Good News – Children of the Nations is still
growing!!!
COTN continues to prove good stewardship with stellar
financial audits, continued membership in the Evangelical Council of Financial
Accountability (ECFA) and a continued 4-star rating by Charity Navigator. We have seen a 10% growth in total donations
in 2013.
This past January, all of the behind-the-scenes gift
processing was switched to a new database system and this included some unique
challenges. With the Lord’s help, COTN has been able to overcome most of these
challenges. Please continue to pray for our efforts to minimize the remaining
hurdles by the end of this year. Your
support has been crucial and so encouraging during this time.
Dominican Republic / Haiti Trip in
March 2014
Many of you remember our hope to visit Sierra Leone in 2012, then
possibly a trip to the DR in 2013. For various reasons, including an increased
workload due to ministry growth (a great thing), we have left the trip plans to
God to confirm…and He has!
Our team will serve in a variety of ways - staff training
for Finance and Resources, some medical and facility projects and a First Aid/CPR
training seminar. Trip costs are $2,500 per person. We are so looking forward
to visiting the university students, who were still in elementary during our last
visit 7 years ago.
